Comments on this proposed project will be accepted for 30 days beginning on the first day after the date of publication of the legal notice in the newspaper of record The Ashland Daily Press. If the comment period ends on a Saturday Sunday or Federal holiday comments will be accepted until the end of the next Federal working day. Written comments are those submitted to the responsible official or designee during the above time frame. Comments should be within the scope of the proposed actions have a direct relationship to the proposed actions and must include supporting reasons for the responsible official to consider.
Only individuals or entities who submit timely and specific written comments about this proposed project or activity during the 30-day comment period or the previous scoping period will be eligible to file an objection. You must be sure to include name postal address title of the project and signature or other verification of identity upon request of both the person/entity who submitted the comment and who authored the comment. Individual members of an entity must submit their own individual comments in order to have eligibility to object as an individual. For those who wish to hand-deliver their comments office hours are usually 7:30 am to 4:00 pm Monday to Friday. I would recommend calling (715) 634-4821 to check if the office will be open or not. Electronic comments must be submitted by 11:59 pm Central Time on the closing date of the comment period. Acceptable formats for electronic comments are text or html email Adobe portable document format and formats viewable in Microsoft Office applications. It is the responsibility of the sender to ensure timely receipt of any comments submitted. Comments received are part of the public record and therefore are available for public inspection upon request.
After the 30-day comment period for the environmental assessment has ended a draft decision notice will be sent to those parties who submitted comments as outlined above or to those who request a copy. A 45-day objection filing period will begin for the draft decision upon release of a separate legal notice. For more detail on commenting on a project please refer to 36 CFR 218.
