Grand Mesa Winter Nordic Ski Areas Dog Management #NP-2046

The USFS, Grand Valley Ranger District received requests for additional restrictions and/or closures related to the possession of dogs on Nordic Ski Trails on the Grand Mesa National Forest. In response, the Grand Valley Ranger District solicited input from the public (during the winter of 2017) regarding the possible need to close one or more ski trail systems to dogs and/or implementing additional restrictions to increase the level of control outside of developed recreations sites. After reviewing all the comments, the District Ranger determined the existing regulations and current management practices in relation to dogs would remain the same.
