Sam Houston RD Prescribed Burn Project #52247

Prescribed burning to create/improve good quality foraging habitat for the red-cockaded woodpecker in Management Area 2. Desired conditions: open, mature pine-dominated forests with diverse grass and forb ground cover, maintained by frequent fire.
