Dear Reader:
Day Management Corporation submitted a Special Use Permit application to install a support tower, foundation and ice bridge on the Crooked River National Grassland’s (CRNG) Gray Butte Communication Site located northeast of Redmond, Oregon. They currently have an existing generator and tower on the site, although this new tower would provide critical infrastructure for transmitting and receiving wireless communication signals to and from a variety of use types, particularly for public safety. The tower would allow for Commercial Mobile Radio Service (CMRS), cellular, paging, Private Mobile Radio Service (PMRS), microwave and wireless internet, and it would allow for expansion and use by current and future customers and tenants, including government agencies.
