Blackwater Landscape Analysis #53403

Analysis of various projects in the Blackwater watershed in Menifee, Morgan, and Rowan Counties to implement the Forest Plan. These projects were developed from the Blackwater Project Development collaborative effort.

The Cumberland Ranger District of the Daniel Boone National Forest (DBNF) is inviting you to comment on a proposed project.  You are receiving this letter because you have participated in discussions concerning the area where activities are proposed or you requested to be notified of activities proposed on National Forest System (NFS) lands.  The following information is provided to allow you an opportunity to review and comment on this proposal.

The Forest Service is proposing several activities in the watershed that include:

  • The use of silvicultural systems to provide a diversity of forest conditions.
  • Improving access to NFS lands by enhancing parking and upgrading road maintenance.
  • Improving water quality through stream restoration and stream crossing improvement.
