Dear Forest Service, Your new forest plan for Clearwater/Nez Perce is fatally defective. Please adopt the Friends of the Cleartwater proposal for the following reasons; 1. You failed to include Pot Mt., Weitas Creek, Selway additions, Cove Mallard, Gospel Hump and Meadow Creek for wilderness protection. 2. Your plan adds such nebulous language for logging restrictions that welfare logging would be allowed everywhere including roadless areas. 3. Your plan does not provide for fisheries, wildlife and watershed protection. 4. You have failed to adequately consider the Endangered Species Act. 5. Water quality, fish and wildlife habitat standards must be enforceable and non-discretionary to protect these valuavle and irreplaceable assets from welfare logging. 6. Continuation of welfare logging disguised as "restoration" does not allow for land recovery. This plan is not only defective but also preposterously corrupt. If you are serious about pushing this proposal, please be ready for interminable litigation, because that is the future of your current idea. Sincerely, Brad Chinn 650 River Trail Hailey, ID 83333 themagnificentseven@live.com (509) 327-7000
