I am writing to express concerns regarding the current permits that have been submitted to drill in the abandoned oil fields near Piru.

I was raised in and am a current resident of Fillmore.  I know our area has a long history of oil drilling that continues today.  We also are known for the great work in returning the California Condor back from the brink of extinction to its current status in the wild which is still closely monitored and supported. 

I request that you consider taking the time to do a full environmental impact report before deciding on an the applications to drill in the Sespe.  There are many effects both short and long term that need to be addressed, particularly around the possibility of the use of hydraulic fracking at the wells.  It is important that all factors and all potential impacts be examined and addressed before moving forward with the permits for additional drilling.
