To the U.S. Forest Service Little remains of the untrammeled natural world in the US. We have in the short time between the end of WWII and now devoured most of the landscape. A few intact fragments of Wilderness and other roadless areas remain. The effects of one generation destroying its' natural base are unknown. No where in any discussion regarding the oil and gas leases in the White River National Forest or any other is the question of conservation of energy by the populace. These fragile places are merely asked to give themselves up to the unquestioned need for more and more energy to fuel an "unnegotiable" way of life. Once these are exhausted where do we look next? Yellowstone? Yosemite? These considerations are not beyond your purview, they are central to your decisions regarding the WRNF long term plan. Western Colorado's public lands are already viewed as a national sacrifice area, please do not add the White River National Forest to this list. -Weston Boyles, age 26 Weston Boyles 266 Wildwood LN Aspen, CO 81611
