I support the Thompson Divide Coalition and endorse the mission to seek federal legislation to permanently withdraw the area from availability for future oil and gas leasing. I ask that you begin a formal process of introducing and assuring passage of withdrawal legislation for the Thompson Divide as soon as possible. The Thompson Divide Area is an important place in our community. I understand the value this 220,000 acre forest provides to our economy. The sustainability of our area depends on clean air and water, the success of agriculture, hunting, climbing, biking, skiing, wildlife habitat and wildlife preservation. The Thompson Divide Area provides an opportunity to promote tourism which is essential to our economy and our success as a community. Please support the legislation of the Thompson Divide Coalition.
