The White River National Forest (WRNF) is soliciting public comments on a proposal from Aspen Skiing
Company (ASC) to authorize the removal of the existing Little Nell and Bell Mountain chairlifts and the
installation of the new Nell Bell chairlift at Aspen Mountain. The proposed project would partially occur
on National Forest System (NFS) lands within the existing Aspen Mountain Special Use Permit (SUP).
The proposed project was identified in the accepted 2025 Aspen Mountain Master Development Plan
(MDP) Amendment and is consistent with the goal of the Aspen Mountain 2018 MDP to continue to
enhance the character of the mountain terrain by improving skier flow, chairlift planning, and access to
terrain.
Public comment period runs from July 11, 2025 to approximately August 11, 2025.
