The Modoc National Forest (MDF) would like to notify interested and affected parties of its proposal to reauthorize multiple grazing permits on seven allotments with active grazing permits. Our goal is to complete an environmental review of current grazing management on these allotments, and reauthorize that use where appropriate, in compliance with law, regulation, and policy. We are seeking your input to help inform this analysis.
The Forest Service is seeking your input. The most meaningful comments are specific to environmental issues or resource conditions that might demonstrate any extraordinary circumstances related to resource conditions enumerated in 36 CFR 220.6(b) that would prevent reauthorization of these grazing permits via a decision memo (DM). Please indicate which allotment(s) your comments are in reference to. Federal, tribal, state, and local agencies; organizations; and US citizens that would like to provide input are invited to submit comments by Monday, October 21, 2024. Although you may submit comments at any point during the planning process, input received prior to this date will be most useful for us to consider your comments and suggestions during project planning and analysis.
To see allotment specific information, and to submit electronic comments, please visit the project website at:
