The final environmental assessment, draft decision notice, and finding of no significant impact for the Managed Stands Eastside Vegetation Management Project are now available. This decision would authorize alternative 2, the proposed action, to treat 14,830 acres south of La Pine, Oregon. This project is subject to the objection process pursuant to 36 CFR 218 Subparts A and B. Objections will be accepted from those who previously submitted substantive formal comments or specific written comments related to the project during the designated opportunity for public participation (§218.5). At a minimum, as described in §218.8(d), an objection must include: objector's name and address with a telephone number, if available; signature or other verification of authorship upon request (a scanned signature for electronic mail may be filed with the objection); when multiple names are listed, identification of the lead objector; name of the project, name and title of the responsible official; name of the national forest; a description of the aspects of the project addressed in the objection, including specific issues related to the project. If applicable, include how the objector believes the environmental analysis or draft decision specifically violates law, regulation, or policy; suggested remedies that would resolve the objection; supporting reasons for the reviewing officer to consider. Issues raised in objections must be based on previously submitted specific written comments or on new information arising after the designated comment period. Objections must be submitted within 45 calendar days following the publication of this notice. The publication date is the exclusive means for calculating the time to file an objection. Those wishing to object should not rely upon dates or timeframe information provided by any other source. Incorporation of documents by reference is not allowed, except as described at §218.8(b).
