Coyote Flat OHV Recreation Enhancement #61311

Commenting on This Project

Opportunity to Object: Coyote OHV Recreation Enhancement

District Ranger Taro Pusina has decided to select Alternative 2, the Proposed Action, of the Coyote Flat off-highway vehicle (OHV) Recreation Enhancement Environmental Assessment (EA). The proposed action will develop nearly 13 miles of existing OHV routes connecting the Big Pine Sugar Loaf system to Bishop Creek Coyote Flat to support a sustainable and versatile OHV route system in the Coyote Flat area of the Inyo National Forest (INF). The decision to implement the proposed action will improve and maintain the network of roads and trails within the project area to provide for safer, more easily navigable roadways and trails for Inyo National Forest users, and for general, wildfire, and all hazard responder emergency ingress and egress. Under the proposed action, I have decided that the current closures at Salty Peterson Mine Road and Green Lake Route (31E301) will be fortified and remain in place.

Coyote Flat OHV Recreation Enhancement Project Inyo National Forest Legal Notice of Opportunity to Object, the Final EA, and Draft FONSI/DN are available for review at https://www.fs.usda.gov/project/inyo/?project=61311.
