Comments on the Evans Brook Evans Brook Vegetation Management Project Draft Environmental Assessment and Preliminary Finding of No Significant Impact will be accepted for 30 days beginning on the first day after the date the legal notice of this opportunity to comment is published in the newspaper of record the Lewiston Sun Journal. The legal notice and date will be posted on the project website after publication.
This 30-day comment period is a designated opportunity for public participation. Comments concerning this project must be postmarked or received within 30 calendar days after publication of this notice in the Lewiston Sun Journal newspaper (36 CFR 218.25). If the time period expires on a Saturday Sunday or a federal holiday the time is extended to the end of the next federal working day.
Only individuals or entities who submit timely and specific written comments (as defined by 36 CFR 218.2) about this proposed project during this or another public comment period established by the responsible official will be eligible to file an objection. Other eligibility requirements include name postal address title of the project identity of the individual or entity who authored the comments and signature or other verification of identity upon request (36 CFR 218.25(a)(3)). Comments received in response to this solicitation including names and addresses of those who comment will be considered part of the public record and will be available for public inspection or possible release under the Freedom of Information Act. Comments submitted anonymously will be accepted and considered; however anonymous comments will not provide the agency with the ability to provide the respondent with subsequent environmental documents or standing for administrative review. Documents cited by the commenter in support of their comments must be submitted with comment letters to ensure careful consideration in project planning. Comment letters should include an identifiable name and contact information to remain on the project mailing list. It is the responsibility of interested parties to respond to this notice within the established time period.
The Forest Service values public participation. Comments including anonymous comments will be accepted at any time. However comments posted after the close of this designated comment period may not be able to be given full consideration. Anonymous comments and comments submitted after the close of the designated comment period will not provide the commenter standing for pre-decisional administrative review (objections).
