The ONF proposes tree harvest treatments focusing on retaining large, healthy, fire and drought resistant species. Simultaneously, this project will improve forest health and wildfire resiliency and reduce threats to nearby private properties.
The Forest Service values public participation. Communications from the public regarding this project, including commenters' names and contact information, will become part of the public record. This project falls under the Emergency Situation Determination authority and therefore is not subject to an Administrative Review Process. Scoping comments will be considered at this time and an opportunity for comments would occur when the Draft EA is made public. No objection period would take place.
