Integrated Management of Target Shooting on the Pike National Forest #57807

(Formerly the AIMS of Target Shooting project) This project will establish an adaptive framework to manage the opportunities for and effects of target shooting (recreational sport shooting) on the Pike National Forest.

The initial proposed action was released for public scoping in January 2021.  After heavily revising the proposed action and adding another alternative, the US Forest Service requested public comments in an extended scoping period from November 28 to December 28, 2023.  That comment period has now closed.  The letters received during both periods are available for public review in the project Reading Room.  The US Forest Service is considering the comments as it revises the alternatives and completes an environmental assessment (EA) for the project.
