Commenting on This Project

The Six Rivers National Forest is proposing the Trinity Summit Restoration Project located on the Lower Trinity and Orleans ranger districts. We wish to inform you of the proposed action and invite your input on the scope of issues, opportunities, or concerns that we should consider.

National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) regulations allow Federal agencies to exclude a proposed action from further analysis and documentation in an environmental assessment (EA) or environmental impact statement (EIS) if there are no extraordinary circumstances related to the proposed action and if it is within established categories defined by 36 CFR 220.6. The proposed project is designed to meet the criteria for a Categorical Exclusion (CE) at 36 CFR 220.6(e)(6), which allows for Timber stand and/or wildlife habitat improvement activities that do not include the use of herbicides or do not require more than 1 mile of low standard road construction.

You are invited to participate in the planning process by providing comments and suggestions.  Communications from the public regarding this project, including commenter names and contact information, will become part of the public record. Comments, including anonymous comments, will be accepted at any time. However, comments posted after July 29, 2024, may not be able to be given full consideration.

Thank you for your interest in the management of the Six Rivers National Forest.
