Caldor Fire Restoration Project #65228

Commenting on This Project

The Forest Service values public participation. Communications from the public regarding this project, including commenters' names and contact information, will become part of the public record. Comments, including anonymous comments, will be accepted at any time. However, comments posted after the close of a designated comment period may not be able to be given full consideration. Interested members of the public should review the proposal's information to determine the applicable administrative review process and the eligibility requirements for that process. The date of the legal notice of opportunity to comment on this proposed action is the exclusive means for calculating the comment period. For proposals to be documented with an Environmental Assessment, the legal notice announcing the comment period appears in the Newspaper of Record.

The legal notice was published on December 5, 2025, in the Tahoe Daily Tribune.  The comment period extends to Saturday January 3, 2026, at 11:59 PM PST.

Commenters must provide their own unique comments.  Saying that the comments from someone else's letter are "incorporated by reference" into your letter will not attribute those issues/comments to you unless the actual text is included in your letter or the actual issues raised in the other letter are discussed or expanded upon.

Contact information entered into the contact fields (name, email, address, etc.) will not be visible by the public.  All information entered into the main comment field box will be visible to the public in real-time on the public reading room for this project.  Do not enter any personally identifiable information (PII) into the main comment field box.

The software used to compile and assign issues to the comments received cannot address comments included in attachments (please note this is not an AI software, all coding is completed by FS staff).  If you would like to include a pdf or word attachment, please also cut and paste the text from that attachment into the main comment field box.  Because the software cannot code attachments, the FS staff will have to perform the cut-and-paste exercise in order to put the text into the main comment field.  In order to prevent transcription errors, please include the text of all attachments into the comment box field and adjust the formatting as necessary.  Attachments will be included in the project record.
