The Draft Decision Memo for the Hoosier National Forest Land and Resource Management
Plan Amendment Camping Regulations is available for review at
request from the Hoosier National Forest Supervisor’s Office at 811 Constitution
Avenue, Bedford, IN 47421, 812-275-5987. Forest Supervisor Michael Chaveas is the
responsible official for this project. This notice marks the beginning of a 45-day objection period
under 36 CFR 219 Subpart B – Pre-decisional Administrative Review Process. Objections may
be filed only by those who submitted substantive formal comments during the scoping or the 30-
day comment period. Objections must be based on previously submitted substantive formal
comments attributed to the objector, unless the objection concerns an issue that arose after the
opportunity for formal comment.
Objections must be in writing and must include the following: 1) objector’s name and mailing
address, and telephone number or email address if available; 2) signature or other verification of
authorship upon request; 3) identification of the lead objector when multiple objectors are listed;
4) name of the plan amendment being objected to and the name and title of the responsible
official; 5) a statement of the issues and/or parts of the plan amendment to which the objection
applies; 6) a concise statement explaining the objection and suggesting how the proposed plan
decision may be improved; and if applicable, how the plan amendment is inconsistent with law,
regulation or policy; and 7) a statement demonstrating the link between prior substantive formal
comments attributed to the objector and the content of the objection, unless the objection
concerns an issue that arose after the opportunity for formal comment.
Objections must be postmarked or received within 45 calendar days after this notice is published
in the Times-Mail. This date is the only means for calculating the date by which objections must
be submitted; do not rely upon any other source for this information. The Objection Reviewing
