LEGAL NOTICE
MT. HOOD NATIONAL FOREST: DRAFT DECISION NOTICE FOR ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT. The Grasshopper Restoration Project is located in T3N, R10E; T3N, R11E; T4N, R10E; T4N, R11E; WM, Hood River County and Wasco County, Oregon. This project proposes vegetation and fuels treatment activities including forest thinning and prescribed fire activities on approximately 5,300 acres on the Barlow Ranger District, Mt. Hood National Forest. Temporary road construction is proposed. Some changes to National Forest System roads are proposed including road maintenance, closures, and decommissioning. The Environmental Assessment and Draft Decision Notice can be downloaded from the project website at https://www.fs.usda.gov/project/?project=56470. The Forest Service Responsible Official is Kameron C. Sam, District Ranger, Barlow and Hood River Ranger Districts, Mt. Hood National Forest. This draft decision is subject to objection pursuant to Forest Service regulations at 36 CFR 218. Only individuals or organizations that submitted specific written comments during a designated opportunity for public participation (scoping or the 30-day public comment period) may object (36 CFR 218.5). Notices of objection must meet the requirements of 36 CFR 218.8. Objections must be filed with the Reviewing Officer within 45 days from the date of publication of notice of the opportunity to object in The Oregonian. The publication date is the exclusive means for calculating the time to file an objection. If the time period expires on a Saturday, Sunday, or Federal holiday, the time is extended to the end of the next Federal working day. The Objection Reviewing Officer is the Forest Supervisor. A link to provide electronic objections is located on the project website under “Comment/Object on Project”.
