This project is subject to the objection regulations of 36 CFR 218 subparts A and B. Only those who submitted timely specific written comments during a designated comment period are eligible to object unless new information has arisen following those periods. Issues raised in objection must be based previously submitted written comments or new information. Individual members of an entity must have submitted their own comments independently in order to have eligibility. Objections received on behalf of organizations are considered as those of the organization only. For objections listing multiple entities or individuals a signature or other means of verification must be provided for the individual authorized to represent each entity. Only the following documents may be incorporated into an objection by reference: (1) All or any part of a Federal law or regulation; (2) Forest Service directives and land management plans; (3) documents referenced by the Forest Service in the proposed project EA that is subject to objection; and (4) any comments previously provided by the objector during the designated comment opportunities (36 CFR 218.8(b)).

The objection period extends 45 calendar days beginning the day after publication of a legal notice in the newspaper of record. If the 45th day falls on a Saturday Sunday or Federal holiday the end date will move to the next Federal work day. The publication date is the exclusive means for calculating the time to submit objections. Those wishing to object to this proposal should not rely on dates or timeframes provided by any other source. Objections must be submitted in writing and can be emailed in an email message in plain text (.txt) rich text (.rtf) portable document format (.pdf) or Word document (.doc) format to objections-southwestern-Kaibab@fs.fed.us with the subject title of "South Zone Grassland Restoration Project"; faxed to (928) 635-8208; or hand delivered Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. or mailed to Sue Farley Environmental Coordinator 800 S. 6th Street Williams AZ 86046. Objectors are responsible for ensuring timely receipt of any objections submitted. The regulations prohibit extending the time to file an objection.

At a minimum an objection must include the following (36 CFR 218.8(d)):

1. Objector's name and address with a telephone number if available.
2. A signature or other verification or identity upon request (scanned signature for email may be filed with the objection).
3. When multiple names are listed on an objection identification of the lead objector (verification of the identity of the lead objector must be provided upon request).
4. The name of the proposed project the name and title of the Responsible Official and the name of the National Forest(s) and Ranger District(s) on which the proposed project will be implemented.
5. A description of those aspects of the proposed project addressed by the objection including specific issues related to the proposed project; if applicable how the objector believes the environmental analysis or draft decision specifically violates law regulation or policy; suggested remedies that would resolve the objection; and supporting reasons for the reviewing officer to consider.
6. A statement that demonstrates connection between prior specific written comments and the content of the objection.

All objections are available for public inspection during and after the objection process and names and contact information submitted will become part of the public record. Responses to objections will be within 45 days of the close of the objection filing period; this response period may be extended by the reviewing officer another 30 days if necessary to provide adequate responses to objections or participate in resolution discussions.
